Destiny 2 Best Hunter Build for Season of Arrivals

So you’re looking for a Hunter build for Destiny 2’s Season of Arrivals. That’s good, because I am too having just swapped from Warlock after getting one too many armor sets I’m not a fan of. We’ve already put together build guides for Titans and Warlocks, but what are we to do with Hunters? There’s no subclass specific way you want to take the Hunter right now, so we’re going to instead focus on making Trinity Ghoul as powerful as possible.

For any kind of build making, I highly recommend using a third-party app, like Destiny Item ManagerDestiny still doesn’t have custom loadout slots. Nor can you filter items in your Vault according to category, element, ammo type, etc. No one Hunter build is ever best for every situation! So saving loadouts will save you a ton of hassle down the line. Anyway, with that said, let’s get to it!

More Destiny 2:

Destiny 2 Hunter Trinity Ghoul Build

Now that Trinity Ghoul has a catalyst, it’s become meta in the PVE environment. With it, the Lightning Rod perk triggers from any Arc damage final blow when you have Trinity Ghoul out and equipped. In addition, this ensures the weapon generates Orbs of Light on multikills which helps enable the renewed focus on the Charged with Light mechanic. Okay, let’s dig into some specifics.

Armor Loadout

When using a Masterworked weapon like Trinity Ghoul with catalyst, those Orbs of Light are so important because of Taking Charge from the Season of Dawn. With it, picking up Orbs of Light will make you become Charged with Light, enabling your other mods.

With your extra mod slots you want to help increase your sword performance and maximize your Discipline and Strength stats. This will help you keep your grenades and melee ability up to activate Lightning Rod.

  • Solar Helmet with Supercharged (Season of Arrival Mod)
  • Liar’s Handshake Exotic Gauntlets
  • Arc Chest with Taking Charge (Season of Dawn Mod)
  • Arc Legs with High-Energy Fire (Season of Dawn Mod)
  • Arc Class Item with Lucent Blade (Season of Arrival Mod)

In short, all of these things will help increase your damage output so the Trinity Ghoul can focus on adds and the sword can take down bosses with high damage-per-second.

Weapon Loadout

The only required weapons for this build are the aforementioned Trinity Ghoul and an arc Sword, though we recommend the new Temptation’s Hook since it can launch Arc projectiles. With the proper timing, you can swap back to Trinity Ghoul before the blast lands and activate Lightning Rod with it.

That’s basically it though. Just throw on your favorite Arc super and get rolling!
