Destiny 2 Void 3.0 Guide - All Aspects & Fragments, How to Unlock

It finally whispered back.

The time has nearly arrived. With the launch of The Witch Queen on February 22, Bungie is finally overhauling the Void subclass to utilize the new 3.0 design it launched with Stasis back in Beyond Light. While earning everything was a slog back then, the developers have changed how you gain access to all of this new content. In this guide, we run down all of the known Destiny 2 Void Fragments and Void Aspects and explain how you can unlock them for yourself!

How to Unlock Void Fragments and Aspects

For everyone who suffered through the process of unlocking Stasis Fragments and Aspects, we have some great news for you. Bungie has announced that anyone who plays Destiny 2 prior to the release of The Witch Queen expansion will immediately have access to all Void 3.0 Aspects and “most” Fragments. Some Fragments are apparently locked behind the World First raid completion which doesn’t go live until March 5, 2022.

If you’re a New Light player, however, you’ll need to earn your Aspects and Fragments as part of your “New Light game experience,” whatever that means. Hopefully the process is much faster than what we got with Stasis though.

Destiny 2 Void 3.0 Fragments

Let’s kick things off with a look at the new Void Fragments since these aren’t class exclusive. Depending on which Void Fragments you choose, you’ll have a specific number of Fragment Slots. Most Stasis Aspects, for example, launched with two Fragment slots though some of the more powerful selections only had one. You can have two Aspects active at any given moment which means you’ll likely be able to choose between two to four of these at once.

  • Echo of Expulsion: Void ability kills cause enemies to explode; Intellect bonus.
  • Echo of Exchange: Melee final blows grant grenade energy.
  • Echo of Dilation: While crouched, you sneak faster and gain enhanced radar resolution; Mobility and Intellect bonus.
  • Echo of Leeching: Melee final blows start health regeneration for you and nearby allies; Resilience bonus.
  • Echo of Persistence: Void buffs applied to you (Invisibility, Overshield, and Devour) have increased duration; Recovery penalty.
  • Echo of Provision: Damaging enemies with grenades grants melee energy; Strength penalty.
  • Echo of Domineering: After suppressing a target, gain greatly increased Mobility for a short duration and your equipped weapon is reloaded from reserves; Discipline bonus.
  • Echo of Undermining: Void grenades weaken enemies; Discipline penalty.
  • Echo of Exchange: Melee final blows grant grenade energy.
  • Echo of Remnants: Your lingering grenade effects (Vortex Grenade, Void Wall, Void Spike, and Axion Bolt) have increased duration.
  • Echo of Reprisal: Final blows when surrounded by combatants grant Super energy.
  • Echo of Instability: Grenade final blows grant Volatile Rounds to Void weapons.
  • Echo of Harvest: Precision final blows on weakened targets create Orbs of Power.
  • Echo of Obscurity: Finisher final blows grant Invisibility.
  • Echo of Starvation: Picking up Orbs of Power grants Devour.

Combining these means you can have grenades that have increased duration, weaken enemies, and cause them to explode.

Destiny 2 Warlock Void Aspects

Each class is only getting three Void Aspects at launch though more will likely come in subsequent seasons just like with Stasis. That makes things somewhat easier for you as what you’re really choosing is which ability you don’t want. When it comes to Void, Warlocks are primarily focused on the devour effect and using their powers to deal damage with the Void.

  • Chaos Accelerant: Hold down the grenade button to overcharge your Vortex, Axion Bolt, Scatter, and Magnetic grenades. Magnetic grenades overcharge into Handheld Supernova.
  • Feed the Void: Defeat an enemy with a Void ability to activate devour.
  • Child of the Old Gods: Cast your Rift to summon a Void Soul. When you damage an enemy with your weapon, your Void Soul will launch itself towards them and detonate nearby, attaching draining tendrils which deal damage and weaken the target. When your Void Soul deals damage, it restores either melee and grenade energy (if running Healing Rift), or health (if running Empowering Rift) back to you. Defeating an enemy who is being drained grants Rift energy.

Destiny 2 Hunter Void Aspects

Hunters are more agile, able to activate invisibility via all three Aspects. One even grants them the weaken effect, though it’s much harder to activate than Echo of Undermining.

  • Trapper’s Ambush: Player can activate Quickfall to spend their melee charge and dive to the ground, creating a smoke cloud upon impact. Enemies caught in the cloud are weakened and allies become invisible. In addition, Snare Bombs, upon attaching to surfaces or enemies, cause nearby allies to become invisible.
  • Vanishing Step: Dodging makes the Hunter invisible.
  • Stylish Executioner: Defeating a Void-debuffed target (weakened, suppressed, or volatile) grants invisibility and Truesight. While invisible and after a Stylish Execution, your next melee attack weakens enemies.

Destiny 2 Titan Void Aspects

When it comes to Titans, they’re split between protecting allies with overshield and marking enemies as volatile, making them explode upon death.

  • Controlled Demolition: Hitting a target with a Void ability or volatile detonation will make them volatile.
  • Bastion: Casting Barricade generates overshield for yourself and nearby allies. Those bunkering behind the shield will regenerate overshield over time and extend the overshield’s duration.
  • Offensive Bulwark: While you have overshield or are inside the Ward of Dawn, grenades charge significantly faster and you have increased melee damage. You also gain an additional shield throw for your Sentinel Shield Super.

When Will Arc and Solar 3.0 Release?

According to the latest ViDoc, Bungie is targeting release for sometime this year. We wouldn’t be surprised to see one of them slip into 2023, however.
