Destiny 2 players love some healthy competition, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the Guardian Games. Each year since 2020's Season of the Worthy, the three primary classes — Hunter, Warlock, and Titan — participate in an Olympics-inspired competition between the classes. This year's picks up a fun subtitle: Guardian Games All-Stars. Developer Bungie's February 29 This Week in Destiny (TWID) blog post first outlined details about this year's event: "It's the time of the year when Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans compete against each other for honor, gear, and the bragging rights that come with being the winners of Guardian Games All-Stars!" the post reads. "Eva Levante will be back at the Tower as your event manager, and she has a very special surprise for you all."
How much time do players have to compete? Who will win this year? And what's Eva Levante's "special surprise?" Read on to learn everything you need to know.
Guardian Games 2024 Dates
The February 29 TWID post confirms that the Guardian Games All-Stars begins with the weekly reset on Tuesday, March 5, at 9 a.m. Pacific. Last year's competition lasted three weeks, and so will this year's. So expect the Guardian Games All-Stars to end on March 26 at 10 a.m. Pacific. (Daylight Saving Time begins on March 10, so the weekly reset time will shift an hour.)
The New Skimmer Vehicle
Ava's "special surprise" is "a totally brand-new Exotic vehicle category," which is a hoverboard called a Skimmer. They can be equipped in the same slot as a Sparrow and "can be used to do tricks, grind rails, or just stylishly skim around looking incredibly cool." It's a clear riff on the Skyboard ridden by Cloud Striders on Neptune, though these won't have the same transformative nanotechnology capabilities.
Two Skimmers will be available during the Guardian Games All-Stars, and more will likely be added to the game as we head towards The Final Shape and beyond.

How to Participate in Guardian Games All-Stars
Every year, the Guardian Games transforms the Tower courtyard into a glorious celebration of competition. Eva Levante will give each player a Class Item needed to participate and a simple starting quest leading to their first Medallion. This, in turn, unlocks more quests and challenges in the Event Card. The main gist of the event involves competing quests, challenges, and bounties to earn Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Medallions. Bronze and Silver Medallions are earned from completing easier activities like Crucible matches with the event Class Item equipped. Ava will also offer Contender Cards for players to earn Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Medallions.
The Diamond tier is new, and players can only do three per week: one PvE, one PvP, and one Twitch Drop from watching a Destiny 2 stream for at least two hours during that week. Guardian Games All-Stars will also feature a rotating Focus Activity (Nightfall, Gambit, or Supremacy in the Crucible). Playing Focus Activities unlocks three tiers of reward packages for earning more Medallions.
Two quests given out by Zavala and Shaxx during the event's introductory quest will also help players earn Medallions:
Shoot to Score
Zavala asks you to get medals and points in Nightfall playlists, specifically a casual Recreation playlist and a Competitive alternative.
Vying for Supremacy
This one's more PvP-oriented and involves both Crucible and Gambit activities as Guardians duke it out. (It's probably several steps like "Eliminate X Warlocks in the Gambit and Crucible. Invaders and Guardians with their Super active are worth more.")
How Has Scoring Changed for Guardian Games All-Stars?
The split has changed slightly over the years, but by and large, most of the Destiny 2 player base is comprised of Hunter mains. Titans and Warlocks are often more or less tied with Titans sometimes edging out their magic-forward competition. Because of the ongoing disparity, Bungie is reworking how scoring will work:
In past Guardian Games, we measured class performance based on total Medallion score," the blog post reads. "Population imbalance has always been a hot issue with this scoring method, and we’ve always weighed these in the spirit of fairness. This year, we’re taking a different approach. Each day, class scores will be measured by the average Medallion score of all players who’ve deposited a Medallion that day, separated by class of course. Our hope here is that this will make your contributions feel more meaningful and that the overall competition is less dependent on hard-to-understand population weighting or catch-up mechanics."

What Are the Guardian Games All-Stars Rewards?
As in previous years, the biggest and best rewards are the weapons. This time around, there's the brand-new Hullabaloo, and two Guardian Games classics will receive updated perk pools: Taraxippos and The Title.
- Hullabaloo (Arc Compress Wave Frame Heavy Grenade Launcher) - This weapon archetype gets a buff when the event goes live, and this particular weapon can roll with Voltshot in the third column and Chain Reaction in the fourth.
- Taraxippos (Strand Lightweight Scout Rifle) - A slightly weaker but snappier alternative to Hung Jury with Strand elemental damage, Taraxippos is an excellent scout rifle only hampered by the fact you can only earn it during the Guardian Games. This iteration will have new perk options like Slice or Precision Instrument, both of which will be great for this weapon.
- The Title (Void Aggressive Submachine Gun) - Though far less sensational than the Taraxippos, The Title is a very solid Void SMG that can roll with Repulsor Brace in the third column and picks up Surrounded, a great perk for SMGs in general. Plenty of players probably prefer Funnelweb, but The Title has some excellent perk combos that are perfect for Void builds.
