The Eremite is a Solar High-Impact Frame fusion rifle. It sports an interesting perk pool to say the least. Here’s how you can get it and the best perk choices for both PVE and PVP.
How to Get The Eremite in Destiny 2
The Eremite can drop from Savathun’s Spire or Altars of Summoning but players can focus it using seasonal Witch engrams at the Ritual Table in the Athenaeum — you can get there from the HELM. Obtaining five weapon patterns, or applying five Deepsight Harmonizers to individual Eremites that don’t have Deepsight, can make the weapon craftable at The Enclave.
The Eremite is Way Better Than You Think
How a gun almost nobody is talking about is quietly one of the best fusion rifles in PVE.
The Eremite God Rolls
The Eremite PVE God Roll
- Arrowhead Brake
- Enhanced Battery
- Envious Assassin
- Reservoir Burst or Controlled Burst
- Masterwork: Stability
Envious Assassin was recently buffed, and it's much easier to overflow a magazine with the perk, so it only makes sense to capitalize on that. As for the fourth column, Reservoir Burst with Envious Assassin makes every overflowed shot activate Reservoir Burst, meaning players can constantly explode enemies without having to reload. Alternatively, Controlled Burst deals increased damage with reduced charge time when you consecutively land a bolt of your fusion rifle shot on an enemy. This effectively turns The Eremite into a legendary Merciless, and the combination deals some serious DPS against bosses and Champions. Heal Clip is something that has potential, but it may not be the best choice for a High-Impact fusion rifle.
The Eremite PVP God Roll
- Extended Barrel
- Projection Fuse
- Offhand Strike
- Elemental Capacitor or Controlled Burst
- Masterwork: Range
When it comes to PVP, this fusion doesn’t have any of the usual fusion perks that make them so viable. Perks like Under Pressure, Eye of the Storm, Firmly Planted are absent, but The Eremite still has potential. The best perk combination for the Eremite when it comes to PVP is Offhand Strike with either Controlled Burst or Elemental Capacitor. Upon getting a kill and activating Offhand Strike, the additional 30 stability and accuracy when firing from the hip can be lethal. High-Impact fusions have longer charge times than other archetypes, so seeing the radar helps plan shots accordingly. Combine that with bonus hip-fire accuracy and you have a winner. Also, Elemental Capacitor can offer a variety of benefits depending on your equipped subclass — something like Void will have bonus stability, and Arc will have bonus handling. On the other hand, Controlled Burst can be useful as a more consistent perk with the added possibility of getting multi-kills.
