With Season of the Undying rotating out, lots of Destiny 2 players are on the hunt for the next best Warlock build for Season of Dawn. With all of the focus on the Solar subclasses, it should come as no surprise that our recommended PVE build uses top-tree Dawnblade. Let’s dig into the specifics!
For these builds, I highly recommend using a third-party app, like Destiny Item Manager. Destiny still doesn’t have custom loadout slots. Nor can you filter items in your Vault according to category, element, ammo type, etc. No one Warlock build is ever best for every situation! So saving loadouts will save you a ton of hassle down the line. Anyway, with that said, let’s get to it!

Destiny 2 Warlock Build
The core functionality of this Warlock build is to consume your grenade energy with top-tree Dawnblade. This gives you the Heat Rises buff, giving you one full minute of extended glide time and better in-air accuracy. You can essentially just stay floating this entire time. Thanks to Winged Sun, another top-tree perks, airborne final blows extend the effects of Heat Rises and provide melee energy.
Combine these effects with Sunbracers which gives you unlimited grenades for a few seconds after a melee kill and you can rain down grenade after grenade on your enemies.
- Arms: Sunbracers
- Armor Mods: Enhanced Momentum Transfer, Enhanced Ashes to Assets
- Weapon: Any
- Class: Solar Warlock, Attunement of Sky (Upper Tree)
Whatever you decide to use you’re going to want to equip the following mods:
- Enhanced Momentum Transfer (Solar Arms Armor Mod): Causing damage with a grenade greatly reduces your melee cooldown.
- Enhanced Ashes to Assets (Solar Class Item Mod): Gain even more Super energy on grenade kills.
Honestly the combination of Sunbracers with the new top-tree Dawnblade is already good enough for most players to run. However, if you have Momentum Transfer and Ashes to Assets you can really get this build going. Believe it or not, it’s entirely possible for a Warlock to stay floating in air, raining down grenades and melee kills for more than five minutes straight.
And we thought last season’s Void grenade spam with Recluse, Anti-Barrier Rounds, Breach Refractor, Ballistic Combo, and Oppressive Darkness was good. The best part of this season’s build is it doesn’t require so many damn mods or a specific weapon type. Everyone can get in on this action as long as they have Sunbracers.
This is one Warlock fantasy that Bungie really nailed. Plus you get the added benefit of being able to aim down sights and do everything in the air without having to deactivate your glide.
There are many other builds to choose from as well. Thanks to other seasonal artifact mods you can also likely construct a really cool Void based build as well.
Keep in mind that none of this even takes the Charged with Light seasonal mod system into account. You can also work with those to further strengthen this build.
